Freedom's Promise (Heartquest)
Published in Paperback by Tyndale House Publishers (February, 2000)
Author: Dianna Crawford
Average review score:

freedom's promise dianna crawford
A truly exciting adventure of a young girl seeking to improve her life by moving west from North Carolina into the untamed land soon to be Tennessee. I admired her grit and her faith in God's plan for her life.

Genesis of the Civil War: The Story of Sumter
Published in Paperback by Digital Scanning Inc (July, 2001)
Author: Samuel Wylie Crawford
Average review score:

A first hand account of the siege of Fort Sumter.
For those who want an eyewitness account of those first fateful days leading to the Civil War, this is the story of the siege of Fort Sumter as told by the physician in Robert Anderson's regiment who held its ground when South Carolina tried to sieze all federal property. It is a very compelling story of Major Robert Anderson as he struggled with his Southern sympathies and his Union loyalty in a maelstrom of poltical intrigue and military posturing on both of sides of the Mason-Dixon line.

Good Mornings: A Breakfast Cookbook
Published in Paperback by Doubleday (June, 1987)
Authors: C. Lee Crawford and Shere Fitch
Average review score:

Wonderful poems
Sheree Fitch is one of my favorite children's authors, and this book is a marvelous collection of her poetry. She writes whimsical, rhyming poems that're great fun to chant. An example: "I wonder if thunder's/ The burp of the sun/ When she's had a big meal/ And her supper is done." Best read to children in a group, but be prepared for them to chant the best lines for the whole rest of the day.

Handmade Greeting Cards
Published in Paperback by Sterling Publications (September, 1992)
Author: Maureen Crawford
Average review score:

Surprisingly Good
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this book. The author introduced various techniques that were easy to reproduce (even for the childre I teach: from 3rd to 6th grade). The cards made, however, do not look simple or easy. I've made cards that ranged from whimsical to elegant using such techniques. A bonus is that you can learn to decorate plain paper rather than spending a lot of money buying the expensive specialty papers in craft supply stores. This book is truly inspirational. I had so many ideas (having made cards for a long time, I've become kind of dry) that I wanted to try out after reading this book!!

Hat Trick [3.5 Disk, HTML]
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Hard Shell Word Factory (01 July, 1999)
Author: Louise Crawford
Average review score:

As good as the original
It's not often that a sequel lives up to the original, but Hat Trick is just as full of riveting action and quirky humor as Blaize Of Glory. This book is a jolt of adrenaline from start to finish. Ms. Crawford has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I can't wait for her next book!

The homesteading recipe book
Published in Unknown Binding by Macmillan ()
Author: Patricia Crawford
Average review score:

Prepare great meals using your garden produce.
I was sad to learn that this book is out of print, as I've used it constantly since it was published in 1976. The easy-to-fix recipes feature fruits and vegetables which are in abundance during spring and summer. Though a lot of them call for beef, pork or chicken, a vegetarian will find many useful dishes here. Quite of few of them have become favorites with my family. In addition, Crawford's chatty writing style makes you feel as if she's a personal friend.

How Sanctions Work: Lessons from South Africa (International Political Economy Series)
Published in Hardcover by Palgrave Macmillan (April, 1999)
Authors: Neta C. Crawford and Audie Klotz
Average review score:

Truly, these are lessons to be learned
I was very impressed with the clarity and intelligence of the essays in this book. I now think more critically about sanctions, in both a historical and contemporary context.

The Hum: Call and Response in African American Preaching
Published in Paperback by Abingdon Press (March, 1995)
Authors: Evans E. Crawford and Thomas H. Troeger
Average review score:

superb
This wonderful little book makes me wonder why white male preachers continue to be so breath-takingly dull. As a white woman, I side completely with the courageous, dynamic presentations of Black preachers in all their varieties of discourse. Highly recommended.

I Have Become Familiar With the Rain: Poems
Published in Paperback by Edwin Mellen Press (May, 1995)
Author: John W. Crawford
Average review score:

Truly inspiring.
The depth at which Dr. Crawford explores his own soul is astonishing. His lifelong experiences are re-created crystal clear in your imagination. ( I am glad he skipped the part about the dirt though)

The Invisible Enemy: A Natural History of Viruses
Published in Paperback by Oxford University Press (April, 2003)
Author: Dorothy Crawford
Average review score:

Truly Infectious!
"The Invisible Enemy" offers a thorough and useful approach to virology without using excessive amounts of medical and scientific jargon. It is especially useful to those of us who have experienced a lapse in time since studying formal virology or medical microbiology. This book is an entertaining overview of several of the more recent discoveries in the field of virological infectious disease. It should be of interest to any student of the physical sciences, or researchers/practicioners of the medicinal craft.
